Inspiration for today's drawing came from this: "Your love is all too often like a firefly, showing very little light except when surrounded by darkness...Afflictions are often the dark settings God uses to mount the jewels of His children's gifts, causing them to shine even brighter." Have you found this to be true? I find the darkness confusing and disconcerting. It isn't easy to think I'm giving off light during those times. But in the sense of darkness that is the world, we do give off light (as believers), and the darker the culture or world the more of a contrast we are to that. Interesting to note that we give off light as we are doing our thing, but it's in a different way than say harsh pinpointing laser pointers.
